In a live session in the official page of NEUFC yesterday, the interim coach of the Highlanders, Khalid Jamil revealed that they've signed the highest Indian goalscorer in the I-league 2019-20, Rochharzela, from Aizawl FC for the upcoming season. Speaking about Rochharzela Khalid said that “Rochharzela will join us next season. He has worked with me at Aizawl FC. Last year, he played very well for them and scored many goals. He is a promising player, he can replace Redeem.”

The head of NEUFC academy also mentioned that they've procured local boy Nabin Rabha from Shillong Lajong FC who can play in any position in defence. Nabin was a compatriot of NEUFC left-back Rakesh Pradhan back in Shillong Lajong.
