NEUFC's young Uruguayan Striker Martin Chaves parted ways with the club. Thanking the club in an Instagram post today, he wrote: "I want to say good bye to a great team NorthEast United is. I am very grateful for every moment and all the people who helped me on that way."

The 22-year-old striker had made his first professional debut from the Guwahati based club in ISL 2019-20. In his 18 appearances for the Highlanders, he scored 3 and assisted 3 goals. "It was special for me because I made my professional debut in that club so it will always be in my heart. Thanks for trusting on me and every time you support since I joined the team specially in bad situations", he added.
Thanking the Highlander Brigade for always backing the team he further added, "A special mention to @highlanderbrigade who are the best. Thank you for all. Thank you @northeastunitedfc always in my heart."
Martin's contract with the club has ended and it hasn't been renewed yet. Highlander Brigade wishes the talented youngster the best for his future and hopes that he makes it big in his career.
Hope they will be two useful assets in the next season
