It's official! Benjamin Lambot, the Belgian Centre back is a highlander now. He will join the club for the 2020-21 season, the club announced in their official social media handles on 1st of October, 2020.

The center back last played for Nea Salamis Famagusta FC, a club who plays in the Cypriot first division. He started his youth career at White star Bruxelles and then joined the youth system of RWD Molenbeek where he stayed till 2001. He went on to start his senior career with the first team of Tubize in 2001 and played there till 2009. He had a loan spell with another Belgian club Virton in 2009. His next destination was Royal Antwerp where he stayed for 3 seasons. Afterwards, he also played for short periods with Lierse; and Simurq in the first division of Belgium.
The sturdy defender then went on to play in the Jupiler Pro league with Cercle Brugge where he stayed for 5 years till 2019. During his time with Cercle Brugge, the Defender even captained the side from West Flanders.

After having plenty of experience in the Belgian top division, he is now heading to India. It will be interesting to watch him play under Highlanders' new coach Gerard Nus. At 6'3" Benjamin will be a strong presence at the back for NEUFC. Talking to Highlander Brigade Benjamin said "We're gonna make great things this time" .
Highlanders are enthused to watch him lead the game from the back, standing tall as a wall. We welcome Benjamin to the NorthEast of India.
