A visit Down Under : North-East United FC vs Chennayin FC- MATCH PREVIEW

The Highlanders take on the Marina Machans in their 6th match of the campaign at Tilak Maidan Stadium in an early kick-off. North-East United come into the game with an exhilarating draw against BFC where they made a late fighting comeback. Chennaiyin on the other hand succumbed to a loss after taking the lead against table-toppers Mumbai City. Both the teams would take positives from their spirited display in their previous games.

North-East United sit at the third position in the table with an impressive resilient display so far and would look to build upon that to clinch three points. The Highlanders expect to rely on an impressive defence led by Lambot and Fox, while Gurmeet has been a revelation. An ever-present midfield and the supporting attack working in tandem would look to bring the win home. Machado has been brilliant last game and would like to continue his run of form. The Gaffer has a fully fit squad to choose from (Khel Now) and fans would love to see Uruguayan maestro Gallego on the ball tonight. A win for the Highlanders takes them to joint top at the table with Mumbai City.

Chennaiyin would however like to kick-start their campaign again after a solitary win in their opening match. Even though the team has not been impressive so far, a particular lad from Mizoram has been the only highlight of their season. Lallianzuala Chhangte has been making headlines recently with his impressive form and he may prove to be a threat for the North-East defence. They are however missing the goal threat from last season after losing Valskis to Jamshedpur and the injury to their midfielder Isma. Their potential midfield of Thapa and Rafael Crivellaro would have to face the sturdy and energetic pairing of Khassa Camara and Lalengmawia Apuia. Roccharzela would like to keep his place on the wings after an impressive display against Bengaluru FC. Pushing him for the spot, Ninthoi looks eager to contribute as well making the squad depth look really promising.

With hopes to see the resilient performances get converted into comprehensive wins, the fans would be behind the team once again in what is looking like a season with potential so far.
